How to Build a Business and a Thriving Family Life at the Same Time

What is success really about when it comes to prioritizing business and family?

Jake Isaacs: I think sometimes we get in our own heads around, we've gotta create this really big, massive thing until I can go and have more time with my family. And one of the unique messages about Gathering The Kings is that you can have all that along the way if you're intentional about it. You don't have to work like a slave for 25 years to have time with your family.

How important is it for entrepreneurs to define what winning in all areas looks like?

Jake Isaacs: We don't do a good job individually of defining what winning looks like. Winning for one person might be gaining weight and building muscle. Winning for another might be losing weight. It's spending the time to define what winning inside the family looks like, what winning inside the business looks like. Those are important conversations you need to be having with your circle, your leadership team, your spouse.

What impact does entrepreneurship have on the strength of the family unit?

Chaz Wolfe: When you look at America right now, marriage has declined, divorces have increased, and single-parent households have increased. As entrepreneurs, we think and live differently. So the impact on our families can be massive. If we don't intentionally strengthen both our business and our family, the pressures will naturally pull them apart.

What’s the danger if entrepreneurs don’t prioritize family along with business?

Chaz Wolfe: Unfortunately, a lot of people are just going to go through it. They're going to halfway grow their business, halfway show up for their spouse, halfway be at their kids' games. Then boom — kids are gone, they don't know their spouse anymore, and they're still overwhelmed in the business. That's what we don't want.

How does Gathering The Kings help entrepreneurs build strong businesses and strong families?

Chaz Wolfe: If you're a family-oriented entrepreneur who's down to earth and wants to grow, Gathering The Kings is for you. Sometimes just being in the room with others doing it right is enough to give you the courage to believe you can too. We provide tactics, yes, but more importantly, we transfer courage. We’re building a community where business and family grow together.
