It's all about knowing your audience. You don’t need to be on every platform; instead, identify where your audience spends their time. Think about where people would go to find your product or service. For example, if you're a doctor, most people will likely search for you on Google first rather than on platforms like TikTok or Instagram. They may then check your social profiles for social proof, such as reviews and credibility.

On the other hand, if you’re launching an unfamiliar product, social media may be a better channel than Google. It’s essential to focus on the platforms where your core audience is instead of spreading yourself too thin. Having a presence everywhere is helpful, but prioritize where you can best engage your audience without overextending yourself.

What strategies improve a business’ online visibility?

I help businesses grow by guiding them to reach the next level. Whether they’re just starting out or are already established but lacking online visibility, I work to identify what’s missing and how to tap into Google’s free traffic and improve their website performance. The goal is to help them compete by analyzing what their competitors are doing and applying those insights. It’s rewarding to see businesses reach new levels by accessing Google’s free traffic, avoiding the need to rely heavily on paid ads, which can require a substantial budget to be effective.

How can business owners effectively delegate tasks to focus on strategic growth?

Probably the biggest shift has been hiring people. Delegating tasks instead of trying to do everything myself has given me more time to focus on higher-level goals and growth. As an entrepreneur, it’s tempting to think, “I can do it all,” but training someone, checking their work, and setting up systems take time. Once processes are streamlined, though, it becomes easier. Delegation frees you from repetitive tasks, allowing you to focus on strategic decisions that drive the business to the next level.

Why must business owners adapt strategies to AI changes in Google search?

Google is beginning to incorporate AI into search results, following Bing’s lead, which aims to prevent Bing from gaining market share. Based on analytics across thousands of websites, Google remains dominant, typically bringing in about 20%–80% of traffic, while Bing generally only accounts for around 1%. Google’s influence on web traffic remains unparalleled.

In response, Google has released its own AI features, such as the BYOD chatbot, and is experimenting with AI-driven results in search. This shift could change the landscape, particularly for e-commerce, where purchasing through chat or predictive AI isn’t yet seamless. If AI takes up more search real estate, Google may present only top results, which could affect how we optimize for visibility.

Currently, I’m learning more about how predictive text in AI search works, as it’s likely to become similar to traditional search algorithms. We’ll need to adapt our strategies to maintain visibility if AI becomes a significant part of search. Google’s upcoming GSC project is expected to incorporate ads with AI results, but we’ll see how it’s received and whether it influences user preferences for AI over traditional search.

What are the benefits of simplifying website content for better engagement?

Since I work in SEO, I tend to get into the technical details of my website, which can quickly become overwhelming and confusing for visitors. I realized it’s more effective to keep the content simple and focus on the high-level benefits of my service rather than getting too granular. Overloading visitors with too much information often leads to confusion and disengagement.

So, I streamlined my website by cutting back about 80% of the content, making it clearer and easier to understand. Now, instead of lengthy technical explanations, I focus on the benefits and provide a few bullet points or a video to keep it engaging. If people want more details, they can reach out to me or my team directly. Given today’s shorter attention spans, it’s essential to capture interest quickly without overloading visitors.
