Why You Need To Get On Podcasts

Why is being on multiple podcasts important for building credibility?

Active interaction is necessary because potential clients or listeners still need to click, listen, and choose. Having a presence on multiple podcasts acts as social proof. Whether you've been on two podcasts or a hundred, it signifies expertise. Within just 10 weeks, you can develop a repertoire and establish yourself in a specific area of expertise. Comparatively, having appeared on numerous shows provides tangible proof of your knowledge and credibility. It's a persuasive factor when someone considers choosing you over another expert.

How can business owners refine offerings based on market demand and profitability?

My first business failed primarily because I didn't listen to what my clients actually needed. I ran a photogrammetric business that started with aerial photography and evolved into one of the first in North America to use digital photography for photogrammetric work. Although we advanced to using technologies like LIDAR and interior mobile mapping, which offered cutting-edge solutions for various potential applications, our market wasn't ready for this innovation. Realtors and builders, for instance, were more focused on their immediate needs rather than futuristic technologies. The business also faced sudden upheaval when my partner passed away unexpectedly, and all contracts being in her name meant the business couldn't survive without her. This experience taught me the importance of ensuring there is a demand for what you are offering and really listening to what that demand entails.

In my new business, I'm hyper-aware of only providing services that are currently in demand. I've learned it's not just about offering something; it's about ensuring it's what people want. My previous work in safety meetings, for example, led me to develop a method that made them more engaging. This became instantly popular because I had directly addressed a widespread issue. Additionally, by focusing on supervisors who were promoted without wanting leadership roles, I found a niche that benefited greatly from my training, which improved their ability to lead effectively.
